My husband Wayne and I have used Petro- Carbo for years, and, words just can not begin to say how wonderful this product is. I lived on a farm where we grew up milking cows, and, using Petro-Carbo on the cows udders so they would not develop pressure sores. Later on, when nursing my now 40-year old son, used on my bosom to prevent sores while breast feeding. My husband also used it while on their family farm, and, has used it for many injuries during the years, and, while trucking or welding, always had a can on hand. We were disappointed when it was hard to find, and, am so thankful we can order online, as we just would not know what to do without this incredible product. I recently had a very bad infection in my knee from falling, and, used this to speed up the healing process and remove poisons in the wound from falling on grout-filled tile flooring with a jagged edge. The Doctor prescribed anti-biotics for this but, they tended to make me sick, so was glad to have Petro-Carbo come to the rescue. Wayne has used it many times for welding burns, and, both of us use it for sunburns. It is a definite FIVE STAR rating in our books, and, would recommend it to any one.

This has been used in my family from childhood up into present time. It is the BEST salve there is. It actually draws out slivers, glass chards and heals cuts and scrapes rapidly. I also use it when my dogs have minor cuts and scrapes and it works awesome on dogs~ears too. I would never want to do without this product!

This salve is fantastic. Doesn't sting so even small children are happy to have it applied to scratches, scrapes or splinters. Very healing. Great all-round salve to have in the medicine cabinet.

Is this the same Watkins carbolic salve is what we called it when I was a child and it works so well. I’ve been told that it’s not the same that government forced Watkins to remove the carbolic acid from the salve. Is that correct?

During the Civil War, there were many many people that died because of infection, and there was no way to stop it someone decided to do something and that person made up a bucket of salve with some things in it and the main thing I thought was carbolic acid and it really worked and saved a lot of people from dying from infection because it stopped the infection and we use that and I was a child on cuts and all kinds of stuff and it worked well and I wonder if this is the same it doesn’t seem like it is because the one we used had carbolic acid in it. Please reply.
